Multi Jet Fusion
Multi Jet Fusion, a technology introduced by the HP company, brings a real revolution to 3D printing of functional products. Discover a new technology that dramatically reduces the delivery time, offers high level of detail and excellent mechanical properties for functional prototypes and series production
Why is Multi Jet Fusion unique?
Thanks to the printer head definition of 1200 dpi and layer thickness of only 80 micrones, this technology moves powder sintering to the maximum level. It uses fine technical plastic granules and reaches almost 100% isotropic properties of products. A ground-breaking technology acts on the principle of fusion of basic powder materials with printing agents by blanket application of heat. This enables manufacture of products without supporting structures which further shortens the delivery time of functional prototypes and series production. This production system can print a volume of 40 l in a record time, only 10.5 hours.
Enjoy the possibility to freely design functional parts with an unrivalled manufacturing speed.
- Excellent mechanical properties
- Functional products with high level of detail
- Repeatability of production in the same dimensions and quality
- High productivity of production with fast delivery times also for higher-volume series
- High printing volume for large-scale parts production with the possibility of their further connection
When is Multi Jet Fusion the most suitable?
- Customised packaging and casing for electronic devices
- Jigs, fixtures and robotic grippers with very complex shapes
- Lower- to medium-volume series of parts with complex shapes intended for end users
- Presentation and design models with high level of detail
- Prototypes with excellent mechanical properties

How does Multi Jet Fusion work?
A ground-breaking technology acts on the principle of fusion of basic powder materials with printing agents by blanket application of heat.
Basic building block in a 3D space is called a voxel. This is a three-dimensional pixel which can have different properties like strength, electrical conductivity and so on.
Multi Jet Fusion is the device that can assign specifically defined properties to every voxel in the whole printing volume. This process takes a few seconds for one printing layer and releases 30 million drops per second in a controlled manner.
